Terms & Conditions
EngaDog, Barbara Thoma, 7500 St. Moritz, Switzerland
Effective as of 1 February 2026
EngaDog, operated by Barbara Thoma, offers individual dog training and behavioural consultation services. Training and consultation sessions include practical and theoretical elements and are intended for dog owners who wish to better understand their dog’s behaviour, address unwanted behaviours, and/or seek behavioural guidance.
The terms “client” and “dog owner” are used synonymously below and apply to all persons regardless of gender identity.

1. Rules for Training and Consultation
The client agrees to arrive at the agreed meeting point on time and properly prepared, allowing the session to begin calmly and without stress. Proper equipment includes:
-
Sufficient high-quality food rewards
-
A toy, such as a treat pouch or tug toy
-
A well-fitted harness
-
A standard leash (1.5 m to 3 m)
-
A long line (5 m to 10 m)
-

Before the session begins, the dog must be given the opportunity to relieve itself calmly.
All training and consultation sessions begin with the dog on leash, even if the session takes place at the client’s home. Leash use is mandatory for all services unless the consultant explicitly instructs otherwise.
While on leash, the client must maintain adequate distance from other dog-human teams. Contact between dogs on leash is not permitted unless explicitly instructed by the consultant.
Training aids that may cause physical or emotional harm to the dog, such as choke collars, slip leads, or similar devices, are strictly prohibited.
The client is required to inform the consultant in advance of any known behavioural issues, particularly fear or aggression toward humans or other animals.
The client must also disclose any official restrictions or requirements imposed by authorities or veterinary offices prior to the session.

2. Health Requirements
The client confirms that their dog has received all vaccinations legally required and generally recommended in Switzerland. EngaDog follows the vaccination recommendations of SVK-ASMPA (2022). The dog must also be microchipped.
Any known illnesses, injuries, or pain affecting the dog must be disclosed before the start of training.
For puppies, the vaccination record must be presented at the first session.
Female dogs in heat are welcome; however, the consultant must be informed in advance.

3. Liability
At the time of participation, the client confirms that they and their dog are covered by valid liability and accident insurance as required by law. The client is solely responsible for obtaining and maintaining such insurance.
The client is liable for all damages caused by themselves, their dog, or accompanying persons. EngaDog and Barbara Thoma assume no liability for personal injury, property damage, or financial loss arising during training or consultation sessions, nor for damage or injury caused by participating dogs.
EngaDog and Barbara Thoma are only liable for damages caused intentionally or through gross negligence. Contractual liability is excluded to the extent permitted by law.

4. Contract Formation and Refunds
4.1 General Terms
Registration for consultation services takes place by prior arrangement via email, phone, or WhatsApp. The client will usually receive written confirmation of the appointment via email or WhatsApp.
Unless the client objects within 24 hours of receiving confirmation, the booking becomes binding and the agreed fee becomes due.

A training or consultation session typically lasts 50 to 60 minutes unless otherwise stated by EngaDog. Delays caused by the client do not entitle them to a reduction in fees.
4.2 Cancellations and Withdrawal
If a client withdraws from a consultation or training service, or discontinues participation after attending at least one session, no refund will be issued for amounts already paid.

For cancellation of an individual session or service previously booked, the following fees apply:
-
Cancellation up to 24 hours before the session: no charge
-
Cancellation less than 24 hours before the session, failure to attend, or early termination: 100% of the total fee
Cancellations must be made by phone or WhatsApp.
If the client arrives late, the session will still end at the scheduled time and will be charged as booked.
