Canine Behavioural
Coaching in the Engadin
Living with a dog is a joy — until that challenging behaviour shows up! Canine behavioural coaching (CBC) helps you decode what your dog is really saying, understand why they act that way, and find practical ways to make life calmer, clearer, and more enjoyable for both of you.
CBC focuses on behavioural challenges that affect a dog’s wellbeing and the shared life with their humans. It combines behavioural science, learning theory, and practical guidance.
Rather than applying standardised training methods, behavioural coaching looks at the whole picture:
-
the dog’s emotional state
-
learning history
-
environment
-
daily routines
-
and the human–dog relationship itself
The goal is not perfection, but clarity, safety, and sustainable change.
What is Canine Behavioural Coaching?
Why professional guidance helps
Dogs live in a human-designed world — and we often expect them to adapt without being taught how. Behavioural coaching provides structure, perspective, and reassurance when things feel confusing.
An external, professional view helps to:
-
identify patterns you may not notice from the inside
-
separate behaviour from assumptions or emotions
-
prioritise what actually needs to be addressed
-
avoid well-intended but counterproductive approaches
Most importantly, you don’t have to figure everything out on your own.
Who benefits from behavioural coaching?
Behavioural coaching can be helpful if:
-
everyday situations feel stressful or unpredictable
-
certain behaviours keep repeating despite training efforts
-
you feel unsure how to respond consistently
-
your dog struggles in specific contexts (visitors, leash walks, being alone, handling, encounters with other dogs)
-
you want guidance that goes beyond basic obedience
It’s just as valuable for prevention as it is for addressing existing challenges
How I can support you and your dog
My approach is individual, evidence-based, and realistic.
Together, we work on:
-
understanding your dog’s behaviour and motivations
-
creating clear, manageable strategies for everyday life
-
strengthening communication and trust
-
reducing stress — for dogs and humans
-
adjusting expectations to what is fair and achievable
Progress doesn’t have to be fast to be meaningful.
What behavioural coaching is not
Just to be clear:
-
It’s not about dominance or punishment
-
It’s not a one-size-fits-all method
-
It’s not about “fixing” dogs
It is about responsibility, consistency, and informed decision-making — with compassion at the core.
